Parking in the city can be tricky and expensive, so here’s a few tips on where to go so your Sunday at Newlife Brisbane isn’t spent worrying about your car.
KGS is right next to Newlife Brisbane. For convenience, nothing beats it, but it is popular and can be expensive. If you’re in and out in less than 3 hours its $10, any more than that and you’re looking at $15. If arriving around 3pm you should be fine to find something on the lower floors, depending on what events are on that day. Entry from Roma St is usually the easiest.
Wickham Terrace is an older parking multi-storey about a 500m (six minute) walk from Newlife Brisbane. For the extra stretch of the legs you are only charged a flat rate of $6 for the day. So if you’re planning on grabbing dinner or hanging out a bit longer, this could be a great option so you can afford dessert and walk it off after. Win win?
So you’re feeling the anointing and want to try out the streets! The first warning will always be read the signs as they have recently, and repeatedly, changed. Currently, most of Ann St between Edward & George is $3.25 an hour. Similarly with Turbot St, and George St. This change came in late 2024 and doing the quick sums, you’re probably better off just going to one of the carparks. There are hidden gems out there, especially if you’re willing to walk a few extra blocks. Keep a look out for Monday to Friday loading zones!
There are loads of other parking places in the city that offer weekend deals. Uptown is $10 flat, Wilson at Elizabeth St is $9, and Brisbane Quarter just $7, so your own research might turn up a bargain.
Newlife Brisbane is also just 200m from Central Station, and right near all the main bus terminals. With 50c fares that will definitely be your cheapest option to get to church, not to mention the environmental benefits of public transport!
